About us
Meet Rosanna and Beth
Rosanna Shura and Beth Packer are professional musicians who sing and accompany themselves, one on guitar and one on double bass. Hay Girl Hey is the two of them playing their favourite pop and folk classics with a country twist.
We are based in Frome and play weddings, birthdays and corporate events across Somerset and the South West. We bring our own sound, so all we need from you is the space and two plug sockets.

We bring all our amplification and only need two plug sockets. We arrive 30 to 45 minutes early and set up in 10 to 20 minutes.

Background music from Spotify plays before, between and after our sets. Send us your own playlist if you would like to choose it.

We have public liability insurance. Tell us your date and venue and we will let you know if we are free.

Yes. We are based in Frome, Somerset, and weddings are the bookings we like best. We play across Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Hampshire, in Bath, Bristol and London, and we travel up to 155 miles from Frome.
Are you a wedding band or a duo?
We are a duo: two singers, one on guitar and one on double bass. We bring our own sound system and set up in minutes, which makes us easy to fit into a wedding day or a function.
How much does a wedding or party duo cost?
Our price depends on your date, your venue and whether you would like two or three 45-minute sets. Email us your date and venue and we will send you a quote.
Do you bring your own sound system?
Yes. We bring all our own amplification and only need two plug sockets. For outdoor events we have long extension leads.
How long do you play for?
A booking is two or three 45-minute sets, with a break between each. Background music from Spotify plays before, between and after our sets, and you are welcome to send us your own playlist. If you want more music after our sets, ask us first, as it may cost extra.

Can you play at an outdoor event?
Yes. Our double bass is sensitive to direct sun, so we ask for some shade. We also need a plug socket, and we bring long extension leads.
How early do you arrive?
We arrive 30 to 45 minutes before we are due to play, and setting up takes us 10 to 20 minutes.
